New €3 Customs Charge for Online Purchases from 1 July 2026
From 1 July 2026, the De Minimis Relief for low-value imports will be removed. This means that online purchases valued at €150 or less arriving in Ireland from outside the EU will be subject to a €3 Customs Duty per eligible item.
The €3 Customs Duty will be included when calculating VAT, increasing the overall cost of some online purchases. Delivery companies may also apply additional administration or handling fees.
Before placing an order, check whether Customs Duty and VAT are included at checkout. If not, you may have extra charges to pay before your parcel is delivered.
If you’re unsure about the total cost of an online purchase or have questions about Customs Duty or VAT, our team is here to help.
