Increased Cost of Business Scheme and Power Up grant Reclassification Appeal Process

The Reclassification Appeal Process for businesses that were previously ineligible for the Increased Cost of Business (ICOB) Scheme and Power Up Grant opened on the 24 July 2025.

This appeal process is aimed at businesses in the retail, hospitality, and beauty sectors that were unable to access the grants due to a misclassification during the original ICOB registration period. It provides an opportunity for these businesses to reclassify their sector and apply for the grants.

Please note, this is not a re-opening of the grants themselves. The process is solely for businesses that misclassified their sector during registration. It does not apply to businesses that missed deadlines or wish to submit new applications.

The Reclassification Appeal Process will be available until 15 August 2025.

Eligible businesses will receive guidance from their Local Authorities, which are administering the scheme on behalf of the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment.
