What Our Past and Current Trainees Say

“I started my trainee contract at Amatino in September 2023, and it’s been a great experience so far. I’m currently studying for my final IATI exams, and with a 2-year contract, I have plenty of time to learn and grow in my role.

What I love most is the variety of work—every week brings something new, from working directly with clients to handling financial statements, audits, and tax. The team is really supportive, and I feel like I’m getting a broad, well-rounded experience.

There’s also a great social side to working here. We have team events and it’s easy to connect with people across the company. The overall culture is so positive—people are always happy to help, and there’s a strong focus on growth. I’m encouraged to take on new challenges, but always given the support I need. The work-life balance means I can focus on my studies and still enjoy life outside of work.”

“After finishing my Leaving Cert, I kicked off my career at Amatino through the Accounting Technician Apprenticeship—a two-year programme that gave me valuable hands-on experience. After that, I went on to complete my ACCA exams, finishing my final one quite recently.

I started with bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll, which gave me a solid foundation. As I progressed, I took on more responsibility, from preparing financial statements and tax returns to leading audits for companies across various sectors.

Throughout my journey, I had great mentorship and support from senior accountants, team leads, and partners with deep expertise. Their guidance helped me grow, tackle complex challenges, and build confidence in my role as I advanced in my career.”

“Hi, my name is Eimear and I’m currently completing my training programme at Amatino Advisory Services. I started on the 23rd of May 2024. I’m doing my accountancy exams with ACCA, which I really enjoy because I get to choose which exams I take and when. They’re nicely spaced out too, so I get a wee break between them! What I enjoy most about being a trainee accountant is working on farmers’ accounts, like counting their stock intake and trying to match things off. The social side is great too, as Amatino runs a social club, which means we get to spend time together outside the office, it’s always good fun. What I personally love about working at Amatino is the people. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, which makes a big difference.”
